We’re thrilled to share that the Lealman Swim Program has received a $25,000 grant from Community Foundation Tampa Bay to support the expansion of free swim lessons and lifeguard training for Lealman residents.
Hosted at the Lealman Exchange, the program has already made waves by providing critical water safety education to local families—especially in a state where drowning is the leading cause of death for children under five. This grant means we can reach even more learners, from first-time swimmers to teens and young adults ready to step into lifeguard roles.
In addition to teaching essential swim skills, the program opens doors to workforce development by offering certification opportunities for older participants. It’s a win-win: increasing safety and filling a much-needed gap in local lifeguard staffing.
We’re deeply grateful to Community Foundation Tampa Bay for their continued investment in Lealman’s growth and safety. And we’re excited to keep building a stronger, more connected community—one swimmer at a time.
