Homeowners, listen up—if you’re dealing with old, cracked, or clogged sewer lines (aka your Private Sewer Lateral), Pinellas County Utilities has a rebate program that could save you a serious chunk of change.
Here’s the deal:
If you own a single-family home, are a Pinellas County Utilities (PCU) customer, and you hire a licensed plumber (they must be registered with the Pinellas County Construction Licensing Board), you could get money back to help cover the cost of inspecting or replacing your sewer line.
What you can get:
- Up to $350 back for a video inspection of your sewer line
You’ll get reimbursed for the full inspection cost, up to $350. So if it cost $275, you’ll get $275. If it cost $425, you’ll get $350 and cover the rest yourself. - Up to $3,500 back for replacing or lining (rehabilitating) your sewer line
You’ll get 50% of what you pay, up to $3,500. So if the job costs $5,000, you’ll get $2,500 back. If it costs $7,500 or more, you’ll get the max: $3,500.
Important fine print :
- This is a one-time rebate per property
- Only inspections that happened on or after October 1, 2022 are eligible
- Repairs don’t count—you only get reimbursed for full replacements or pipe lining (no money for patch jobs or clog clearing)
