The Lealman Exchange was buzzing with curiosity and creativity during our third annual STEAM Day, as over 130 local youth explored hands-on activities designed to ignite their passion for science, technology, engineering, art, and math (aka the good stuff).
With support from area summer camps, community residents, and a squad of rockstar volunteers (shoutout to Seniors in Service!), the event offered 12 interactive STEAM stations hosted by an amazing lineup of local organizations, including:
- Orlando Health
- Tampa Bay Watch
- Family Center on Deafness
- Boyd Hill Nature Preserve
- Great Explorations Children’s Museum
- Tampa Bay Times Newspaper in Education (NIE)
- Pinellas County Animal Services
- AmSkills
- SPCA Tampa Bay
- Lealman Exchange
- Water Warriors
The event, completely free to youth in the community, gave kids the chance to build, code, touch, explore, and ask “why” (a lot). From animal encounters to hands-on experiments to coding demos and environmental science—you name it, they STEAMed it.
We’re also incredibly grateful to our sponsors, including Publix and the CodeBoxx Foundation, for helping make this day a reality. Their support helps us keep STEAM education accessible and exciting for every young mind in Lealman.
👩🔬 Kids got inspired
🤖 Robots may or may not have been built
🌱 Nature and science made a cameo
🧠 Learning was disguised as FUN
🏆 And our community? Still unmatched.
Here’s to another successful year of bringing STEAM to life!
